Sailing has the advantage over many other sports that spectacular "equipment" can potentially add a lot to the public image and media attractiveness of the sport. If we go back to the pre-WWII years of the Olympics, the larger keelboats that were used were Skerry Cruisers/Square Meter Yachts and Meter Yachts. At that time these boats were the most advanced, fastest and beautiful yachts ever produced.

Not too much - not too little. The SC 20 mainsail now comes with a new batten tension system, and a key. You simply turn the key to apply more or less batten pressure. The more pressure you put on the battens, the more automatic shape you get in the sail, which may help you in light air, but if you put on too much pressure it is much harder to get the sail to change sides when you tack. If you are into windsurfing you know what I am talking about. If the batten pressure is too loose, a batten ma

The Scandinavian Cruiser 20 (SC 20) combines the charm of classical Skerry Cruisers with state-of-the-art technologies. They are created for sailors, who value elegant design as much as high speed and easy handling. Love at first sight. I came, saw... and was defeated!

During the design phase of the SC20 we considered to lift the keel from the mast, but we were concerned about the weight on the free-standing mast. It turned out that the mast is stiff enough. Here are the pictures of the new keel lifting system which is now supplied on all new boats, replacing the aluminum lifting boom. This can also be retro fitted to existing SC20's.

The Internet can be used by disgruntled people as a tool for revenge. This is a reality and we must accept it. We will respond professionally to all reasonable criticism, and reject any unfair attacks.   We have witnessed an unfair attack on Scandinavian Cruisers, by our former distributor in Tampa, Florida, Jerry A. Twomey, Boat Fix USA, Inc. / Sailtime Tampa, Inc.

The boat has excellent stability, speed and tracking for recreational rowing, great rowing exercise or club racing. It can be rowed either in a single sliding-seat setup or a double fixed-seat arrangement, and has a large self-draining cockpit, carbon fiber oars, Concept II oar locks, stainless steel outriggers, racing seats, and built in oar storage holes.

The first Scandinavian Cruiser 20 to sail in Canada was launched on a bright sunny July summer day at Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Club. The boat was promptly christened with Champagne by the owners and their family members.

This picture from the recent launch of SC 20 (CAN 1) at Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Club in Canada captures the contrast between the worlds first Mini Yacht and a Super Yacht very well, and underscores the Scandinavian Cruisers core value of "Recapture the essence of sailing!".

The weather in Xiamen, China was sunny and warm as it seems to be each time we come here to sail. We started out by rowing the Scandinavian Dory 18 in the single rowing and sliding seat set-up, with my wife and son as passengers and acting as my “eyes” looking forward from the stern. The boat is exceptionally stable in rowing mode, and two people can easily change positions by walking past each other rather than one climbing through the legs of the other person.
