The Scandinavian Dory 18 won 2nd place in the ocean rowing race in Xiamen, China on September 4, 2010.

The team consisting of Nis Peter Lorentzen and Raymond Chen participated in the doubling rowing class.
The Scandinavian Dory 18 is a beautiful classic boat with the latest rowing and sailing functionality. The boat has excellent stability, speed and tracking for recreational rowing, great rowing exercise or club racing. It can be rowed either in a single sliding-seat setup or a double fixed-seat arrangement, and has a large self-draining cockpit, carbon fiber oars, Concept II oar locks, stainless steel outriggers, racing seats, and built in oar storage holes. When the breeze is up, the boat can also be sailed with an optional sleek carbon fiber cat rig, fully battened tri-radial sail, half-wishbone boom, swinging leaded centerboard, and swinging rudder and 3 hiking straps. The forward storage hatch contains a fully insulated cooler box, and the aft storage hatch contains battery storage for an optional electric trolling motor.
